Shinto is Japan's ancient original religion, and Buddhism is introduced to Japan from China and Korea in the sixth century. Shinto is practiced at shrines and Buddhism is practiced at temples. Most Japanese people practice and belive in both religions. This is one of the most interesting points of Japan's religious outlook.
